It wasn't till the afternoon of the Next day that I called our Realtor and let her know. If voices could kill... "Why you tell me now!?" I could feel her death glare. I didn't bother telling her about the guy upstairs who called his Realtor. Sorry. Didn't help that I called on a Saturday...
Well, no water is no big deal but you still have to shower and I was starting to need one pretty bad. Hunny got the great idea for us to use the showers at the company where he works. Thankfully it was the weekend and we wouldn't have to worry about anyone showing up. So we packed up our gear and headed down to base. I usually would've felt ridiculous or nervous but I was smiling, and having a good time. It felt like an adventure. Almost like we were at Girl's camp or something.
Well, being able to take a shower was nice but how are we supposed to flush the toilet or do dishes without water. I thought it would be smart and resourceful to collect the excess of snow that refuses to melt despite it being above freezing, but we didn't have a bucket. No worries, I didn't have to figure it out for long because on our way out one morning we heard water in the pipes in the car port. Hunny checked a spiket and there was water. We got out a large serving bowl, a huge pot, and the big pitcher and filled them up. It was fun to 'collect' our water and run it upstairs to clean up the house. We opened all the windows to air out the apartment and set to cleaning. Usually I would feel overwhelmed at the task, but it was so peaceful and nice. I loved the feeling of having our collected water, working side by side, cleaning up. The open windows and feeling reminded me of home. Whenever there would be a rainstorm or something, Mom would always open all the windows and doors and relax. It was so peaceful. The breeze and the sound of rain, the open feeling.
Our water came back on later that evening. I normally may have been mad that it had not come on a little sooner, or had waited a little longer to do dishes, so we would not have had to collect our own water and heat it but it was an exciting experience; especially with Hunny helping.
Yay for adventurous spirits! My dad would always open the doors when he was cleaning too, and sometimes when it rained.
